1 The sample of banks reporting this data in each data set varies over time. See Table A2, Table B2 and Table B3 for the list of countries that report positions vis-à-vis the non-bank financial institutions sector. Cross-border claims are a component of international claims and foreign claims (see Box A). However, in some instances cross-border claims reported in the LBS can be higher than the international and foreign claims reported in the CBS, primarily because the two data sets have different treatments of certain (derivatives, trustee) positions and different reporting populations.
