Dividend proposal for the financial year ended on 31st March 1997

The Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements has decided to propose to the Annual General Meeting to be held on 9th June 1997 the distribution of a dividend of 280 Swiss francs per share for the financial year ended on 31st March 1997.

This dividend will be payable on 1st July 1997 to shareholders registered in the Bank's books as at 20th June 1997.
