Biographical note: Hervé Hannoun, former Deputy General Manager
Hervé Hannoun was Deputy General Manager of the BIS from 1 January 2006 to 30 September 2015.
He served on the BIS Board of Directors from 1994 to 2005 and, from 1999, was a member of the Financial Stability Forum (now the Financial Stability Board). Mr Hannoun chaired the International Relations Committee of the European System of Central Banks from 1998 to 2005.
Mr Hannoun was First Deputy Governor of the Bank of France (2000-05) and a member of its Monetary Policy Council. Prior to joining the Bank of France as Second Deputy Governor in 1992, he served in various capacities in the French Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, and in the offices of the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic of France.
Mr Hannoun is a graduate of the Institut d'Études Politiques in Paris and the École Nationale d'Administration.
